4. Apply cleaning paste
Using a sponge or a soft-bristled brush, dip into the dishwasher tablet paste and apply it generously to the interior surfaces of your oven. Focus especially on areas with visible grease buildup, food stains, or discoloration.
Spread the paste evenly over the oven walls, floor, and door interior, avoiding electrical components or heating elements. The paste’s alkaline detergents work to break down grease molecules, making them easier to remove during scrubbing.
For stubborn spots, apply a thicker layer and gently press the paste into the residue. Be careful not to damage the oven’s enamel coating; use soft tools and moderate pressure only.
5. Wait time for cleaning
Once the paste is applied, allow it to sit undisturbed for 15 to 20 minutes. This waiting period is critical as it gives the cleaning agents in the dishwasher tablet time to penetrate and dissolve hardened grease and baked-on food particles.
During this time, avoid touching or disturbing the paste. The detergents will emulsify grease, effectively loosening it from the oven’s surfaces. If your oven is extremely dirty, you may extend the wait time slightly, but avoid leaving the paste too long to prevent any potential damage.
6. Scrub and wipe down
After the wait time, use your sponge or brush to scrub the oven interior gently but thoroughly. You will notice that the grease and grime should come off much more easily than before.
Pay close attention to corners and crevices where dirt tends to accumulate. Use circular motions to lift residues without scratching the enamel.
Once the grime has been loosened, wipe the oven surfaces clean with a damp cloth to remove all paste and dirt residues. It’s important to remove all remnants of the cleaning agent to avoid unpleasant odors or chemical residues when the oven heats up.
If necessary, rinse the sponge or cloth frequently and continue wiping until the oven interior is spotless.
